Jake and his family trip to Disney:
After an incidental soccer injury leading to a grand mal seizure, the last thing Jake and his then fiancé expected was to learn he had a cancerous mass on his brain. It took three brain surgeries, two months of radiation, and oral chemotherapy, but Jake miraculously beat his brain cancer. Jake and his wife went on to welcome three miracle kiddos and enjoy their life celebrating his remission until one morning eight years later he woke up and could hardly stand up or walk in a straight line. Jake and his family quickly found themselves facing another long surgery with more painful radiation and difficult chemotherapy. Although he beat the cancer again, Jake will continue to battle lifelong seizures and the long term effects of the lifesaving treatments he received.
We were able to surprise Jake and his family at our first annual golf tournament with the news we would be sending them on an all expenses paid trip to Disney World for spring break! They had the experience of a lifetime! They experienced so much joy and made memories that they will never forget all thanks to the generosity of our Bee Happy. Bee Kind. supporters!
Irish and family:
We were fortunate enough to meet Irish and her two beautiful kids from an online nomination. Irish has been fighting cervical cancer for over a year and half. She continues to fight the difficult battle on a daily basis. We got to play Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and fill up every inch of space under their Christmas tree.
We were thrilled to bring some joy during the holiday season to Irish and her kids by filling their wishlist for Christmas!
The Johnson Family:
DeeDee and her family are the first beneficiary family for The Bee Happy. Bee Kind. Foundation!
DeeDee has been a respiratory therapist for 33 years. She has dedicated her life to caring for the sickest pediatric and neonatal patients and now it is time for us to step up to help Deedee.
DeeDee was diagnosed with lung cancer in October 2022 from a gene mutation. She had lung surgery November 16th and had her left lower lobe. Recovery has been difficult, but DeeDee and her family were able to go on an all expenses paid Alaskan cruise in July of 2023!
The Amazing Leo!
Meet our new friend, Leo! Although, Leo battled and is currently in remission from Leukemia, his wish was to spread kindness to other kids with cancer at his children's hospital by providing them all with Squishmallow pillows . The Bee Happy. Bee Kind. Foundation knew they had to help and sent 40 squishmallows to Leo to help him reach his goal of 100 squishmallows!
Thank you for BEEing Kind, Leo!
Amanda's Cool Cap
A new friend to The Bee Happy. Bee Kind community, Amanda recently heard those dreaded words...you have cancer. Unfortunately, for this sweet family this isn't the first time hearing those words. During her journey, Amanda is trying to keep life as normal as possible. One of her goals is to try and prevent or decrease the loss of her beautiful hair. The Bee Happy. Bee Kind. Foundation wanted to support her in this goal and have assisted in covering the cost of a cold cap.
The goal of this foundation is to help those fighting cancer find a little bit of joy. For Amanda that joy is preventing the loss of her hair. If you are able, please support our cause so we may continue to bring joy to those who are affected by cancer. You can do that by sharing our information and/or donating to the foundation.
Craig and his CU Football trip
Craig’s motto is “once a Colorado BUFF…always a Colorado BUFF!” Craig attended The University of Colorado in 1960 as a pre-law major and never wavered on his love for the black and gold. Craig has been battling a rare form of advanced salivary gland cancer for the last 5 years. Although his tumors have been shrinking, the specialized treatment is costly. Copays, travel expenses, overnight stays have mounted up quickly along with the emotional, physical, and mental duress he has endured with his diagnosis.
The Bee Happy. Bee Kind. Foundation is thrilled to be flying Craig and Diane to Colorado so they can attending the CU vs CSU football game next Saturday! We hope this all expense trip for Craig will be a huge source of Joy during his long cancer battle.
